HouseValues is a leading provider of web-based marketing and business development tools for residential real estate agents. The Company offers a full suite of lead generation, prospect management and business development services for its customers. The Company generates leads from its HouseValues.com and JustListed.com web sites, and couples these leads with its Market Leader online prospect management system and personalized coaching and training to help agent customers increase lead conversion.
Our Role
CGP had the opportunity to invest in HouseValues because of its long-term relationship with the company’s Chief Financial Officer. HouseValues’ CFO contacted CGP when the founder of HouseValues expressed an interest in partial liquidity on his investment. CGP proposed a flexible deal structure that provided partial liquidity to the founder while addressing existing shareholders’ concerns with dilution. CGP partners Robert Healy and Robert Blank serve on the Board of Directors of HouseValues and have worked closely with Management and other investors providing guidance on the company’s growth strategy.
Results
HouseValues completed its Initial Public Offering in December 2004 and trades on the NASDAQ under the symbol SOLD. The company has grown significantly since its founding in 1999. Today, HouseValues has over 170 employees and approximately $50 million in revenue.
